Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy benefits include feelings of deep relaxation, improved mood, improved sleep and a general sense of health and well-being.

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the use of smell in a therapeutic manner and is said to improve both physical and emotional well-being using essential oils. Essential oils penetrate through skin into the bloodstream to target specific organs. During a massage, aromatherapy helps you to relax and improve conditions to restore harmony and natural balance.

What happens during the aromatherapy treatment?

A consultation will take place to understand your individual needs and a bespoke blend of oils will be added to a carrier oil and your unique massage oil created (I have a range of 30+ Neal's Yard Organic Remedies essential oils).

You will be instructed (once I leave the room) to remove your watch, jewellery and top layer of clothes (underwear to be kept on) and invited to lay on the treatment couch, covering your body with the towels provided. Once you are ready the treatment will begin lasting approximately an hour for a full body massage. I will be using various techniques to work the oils gently to be absorbed by the skin and into the circulatory system to help relax, calm and restore balance to your body and mind.

Aftercare

A glass/bottle of water will be provided after the treatment. It is advised to not drink alcohol/caffeine or eat a heavy meal in the hours immediately after the treatment.

Keep oils on for as long as possible but beware of sunbathing whilst the oils are still on.

PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR PETS LICK YOU WITH THE OILS ON YOUR SKIN

Although benefits are often felt after 1 session, regular treatments will maintain the effects.

Once per month is ideal to maintain the body's equilibrium.

Weekly treatments are generally needed to balance specific areas of concern or weakness (up to 6 weeks).

Please enquire about block-booking as a discount will be offered for treatments paid for in advance.

I am qualified with a VTCT level 3 diploma in aromatherapy and I am a fully insured member of the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists), therefore if you have health insurance, please check your policy as you may be covered for some/all of the cost of the treatment.
